International Removals to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal
We move households from London and the rest of the UK to four countries: France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. Those four, done properly, and no others.
- France, Italy, Spain, Portugal
- Full or part load
- Customs paperwork explained
- Export packing
Our international removal service collects your belongings from your UK home, packs them for a long road journey, deals with the export side and delivers to your new address in France, Italy, Spain or Portugal. You choose a full load, which is a vehicle just for your move, or a part load, where your goods share the vehicle with other moves on the same route. We explain the customs step for your destination before you book, and quote in writing.
Full load or part load
A full load means a vehicle carrying only your belongings, driving from your door to your new door. You get more say over the collection and delivery dates, and nothing is unloaded on the way. It suits a whole household, or anyone moving to a fixed date such as the start of a new job or a school term.
A part load means your belongings travel alongside other households going the same way. Each consignment is wrapped and recorded separately and loaded so it comes off in one piece. It usually costs less than a full load because you only pay for the space you use, but the delivery window is wider. The vehicle works through its drops in route order and departs once the load is complete. It suits smaller moves and anyone who can be flexible.
The customs step
Since the UK left the EU, household goods moving to France, Italy, Spain or Portugal go through customs on the way in. If you are moving your main home there, you may qualify for relief from import duty and VAT on your personal belongings. The conditions vary by country and usually involve proof that you are taking up residence and that you have owned and used the items. We tell you what your destination asks for, help you prepare the inventory and pass the paperwork to the right people.
Some things cannot travel freely: plants, fresh food, large quantities of alcohol or tobacco, and anything needing a licence. Tell us about them at the survey and we will explain the rules rather than have them stopped at the border.
Collecting from anywhere in the UK
We are based in Southwark, but international collections are not limited to London. We regularly collect from Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Bristol, as well as smaller towns along the way. If you are leaving one home in London and another elsewhere, a single vehicle can often collect from both before it heads for the Channel crossing.

Available for the journey when you give us a signed valued inventory before the move.
What affects the cost of international removals
We do not publish prices, because no two jobs are the same. Your written quote is worked out from these things:
- The destination country and how far the address is from the main routes
- Full load or part load
- The volume of goods
- Packing for the road journey
- Access at both ends, including narrow village streets
- Customs requirements and any duties your destination charges
- Storage at either end if your dates do not line up
International Removals questions
No. We move households to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal, and those are the only international destinations we serve. Focusing on four countries means our crews know the routes, the customs offices and the kind of access problems each one throws up, from Parisian courtyards to hill villages in the Algarve. If you are moving anywhere else, we are not the right company for you.
Vehicle shipping is a separate job with its own paperwork, including registering the car in your new country, which each of the four handles differently. Mention it when you ask for a quote and we will tell you whether it can travel with your household goods on your route or needs to go separately. Many people simply drive the car over themselves.
Tell us as soon as you know. On a full load we can sometimes move the delivery slot. On a part load the vehicle has other drops to make, so your goods may need to go into storage near the destination and be delivered later. That adds cost, which is why we ask for a realistic delivery date and a contact at the new address.
Someone needs to be there at both ends, and it is best if it is you, because customs paperwork may need your signature and you will want to check the inventory. If you have already moved abroad, a friend or family member can hand over at the UK end with your written permission. Tell us who it will be when you book.
