London to Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and the rest
The runs we do most often from London go up the M1 and M6 to Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, and west on the M4 to Bristol. Those are motorway routes the crews know well, including the junctions to avoid on a Friday afternoon. For Glasgow and Edinburgh the route is longer and the plan matters more, but the principle is the same: one van, one crew, and a delivery time agreed in advance.
We also move people out of London to towns and villages well away from the motorway, where the final stretch is a narrow lane and the van needs a turning space. Overnight stops and split loads
Drivers of removal lorries work under drivers' hours rules, which limit how long they can drive before a break. On the longer runs, particularly to Scotland, the job often needs an overnight stop. In that case the loaded van stays locked and parked securely, and delivery takes place in a slot agreed with you in advance. You will know before the move whether your job involves a stop.
Sometimes it makes sense to split the job. We load in London, the van is held securely, and we deliver at a time that suits the new end, perhaps because the keys are released late or the new building only allows deliveries at certain times. If the gap turns into a longer wait, your things go into storage and we deliver when you are ready.

- Access at both addresses, including rural lanes and long carries

- Split delivery or storage between collection and delivery
Long Distance Removals questions
Not on a standard long distance removal. Your belongings go in a van booked for your move only, from your door to your new door. If you have just a few items and are flexible on the delivery date, ask whether a shared load would work for you, but we will always tell you clearly which one you are booking.
Most people travel up separately by car or train and stay at the new place or nearby. Pack an overnight bag with bedding, a kettle, phone chargers and anything you will need before the boxes are open. Keep it in the car with you, not in the van. If the move includes an overnight stop, plan to be at the new address for the agreed delivery slot.
Yes. The survey happens at your London address, in person or by video call, whatever the destination. A long run makes the survey more important, not less, because there is no popping back for a forgotten shed. We also ask about the new home so we know how much parking and carrying space the crew will have.
Yes. The crew drives out, loads and brings everything back into London.
